Vanessa

I have been passionate about organic ingredients and natural health for over 30 years or more now.

I came to learn that what I was eating, drinking and putting on my body is full of man-made chemicals that have never been tested for safety, and after going through a challenging period of unexplained infertility for nearly 10 years, I began to research and learn all I could.  

Along my journey I started seeking answers and went to see a Naturopath.  One of the first things she suggested I do was read a book on natural fertility by Francesca Naish. This book was the turning point for me, an awakening, because that was when I first learned that the food, water and personal care products I had taken for granted as being safe, are actually full of dangerous chemicals, additives, colouring, flavours, Genetically Modified Organisms and are harmful to our health, our bodies and the planet. 

These chemicals and toxins can cause all sorts of health issues - it is actually very scary!  So massive changes were made.  Without going too much further into my personal story, since reading that book I have continued to read, learn and research, and became passionate about organics, natural health and wellness… and I now have two beautiful children!

The choice for being organic is an easy one for me, and my family, knowing that organic produce is healthier, more nutritious, fuelling the body with all the vitamins and minerals it needs, is something that can not be overlooked in our current times of increased disease and illness.  Nature gives us exactly what we need in the correct form and in the correct amounts.  Organics also supports the environment, is better for the earth, water quality, plants and animals and supports ethical, conscious, responsible farmers.

Jason

Jason’s journey started over 15 years ago when his Dad was diagnosed with cancer.

Jason's Dad went through the whole medical system treatment for cancer. He was given the “all clear” after treatment but then the cancer came back after around 5 years. Feeling disappointment in the medical system Jason started researching alternative therapies as he felt there had to be something else than the cut, burn and poison that his father had endured the first time around.

On that journey he ended up connecting with Vanessa through OrganicBox.

Mitch

Our son (and step son) Mitch has stepped into the role of Cold Room Supervisor in June 2022.  Since taking over the role he has streamlined many procedures and reduced the number of issues we had experienced in the cold-room.  Great boxes, superb produce and great feedback from our customers.  He has been working for OrganicBox on and off for around 10 years now.  He did a fruit picking season in the Riverland, plus helps out each year in the orchard. Passionate about the family business and sending out great boxes to our customers.

Polly (Ian)

Polly is our delivery driver on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday's.  He has been with us since March 2019 and is just a wizz on the delivery run.  We know he does a great job as we've had wonderful feedback about his customer service, and we are grateful for his hard work and dedication.

Kevin

Kevin came to OrganicBox in November 2021 as a fill in driver but has now become one of our regular deliver drivers doing the Barossa run on Tuesday, plus deliveries on Wednesday's and Thursdays as needed. 

Kylie

Kylie has been with us over 3 years now, joining our paddock team in 30/8/2021 and now heads up the horticulture team as the Paddock Supervisor. Kylie is super passionate about her job and loves coming to work, getting out in nature in the paddock and growing amazing produce. Kylie's number one responsibility besides overseeing harvesting, planting etc is water, so she ensures all our crops are being watered during dry times.

Nick

Nick joined our paddock crew in April 2022 and is an important part of our horticulture team. He is now our number one tractor driver, so Nick looks after bed preparation, green manure crops and his main responsibility is feeding. So, feeding is ensuring all our crops are getting feed with maximum nutrients for maximum growth and nutrition.

Cadlyn

Cad joined the horticulture team in December 2022 and is a quiet, hard working, dedicated part of our horticulture team. Cad is in charge of pest control as his number one responsibility as part of our paddock team. He has a love of growing food and fits in well with our team.

Shareen

Shareen joined our paddock team in August 2023 as our number one weeder! To say Shareen loves her job is an understatement!!! Even during our week off at Christmas she sent a text saying she was missing work. Shareen is a super hard worker and actually does the job of more than one person. Her responsibility is weed control, and she works closely with Cad in pest awareness.

Kathleen

Kathleen joined our team end March 2022.  Being a naturopath, with a passion for nutrition, plus a few years prior experience in packing food boxes, she is a valued member of our packing team.  Kath packs beautiful boxes.

Kim 

Kim joined our team at the start of 2022 as Admin Assistant to Vanessa.  Kim is now running the OrganicBox admin team and is to be the first point of contact for orders, payments and delivery queries.  Since joining Kim has fitted in really well and is absolutely fantastic with our customers.  

Katherine

Katherine joined our team in November 2023 and is responsible for managing our data for the paddock team.  This involves recording harvest records, costs and expenses of the paddock plus keeping data on planting rotations.  She also manages our Co-Op orders and promotions.

Ashlyn 

Ash, our daughter (and step daughter), has been helping out with packing since she was 11!! She is now 18, and although she doesn't work in the cold-room as much these days, she is always a handy back up if needed.  She works hard and packs beautiful boxes.  We are really proud of her efforts at a young age.

We really appreciate and are grateful for our wonderful team who make OrganicBox tick each week.
