FAQ’s

When is the order deadline for delivery?

Orders close at midnight on Sunday evenings.

If you do forget to order on a Sunday night you can send through first thing on a Monday morning before our admin team start collating orders, at around 7.30am.

Our paddock team starts at 9 am on Mondays and we like to have their harvest list ready for when they start.

What if I don’t like something in my box?

We never want our customers to recieve produce they will not eat.

All you need to do is email Kim or Vicki at changes@organicbox.com.au by midnight Sunday night, and we will swap items out for you! We can also set up a "Never Send List" on your account.

So if you are growing produce at home yourself, or if you have some left over from the previous week we are happy to accommodate your order.

Do I have to order a box?

No, absolutely not!

Our boxes are a convenient way to add whats in season to your shopping cart but please feel free to create your own order via the website by selecting from the Fresh Produce list, or our other departments like Meats, Grocery, Bakery and more!

What packaging do you use?

Our boxes are delivered in both cardboard or foam depending on customer requests.

We also have the option for customers to use BioBag liners and produce bags.

We ask that you leave the empty box out the night before your delivery day so our friendly drivers can swap them over for you.

Am I locked in to a contract?

No! At OrganicBox we are super flexible.

We never want to force anyone to have food delivered they don't want.

We understand situations change, you can pause or stop your subscription at any time.

How do I know it’s fresh?

We are very passionate about sending our the freshest produce we can.

Our paddock team harvest the produce for you boxes the day before delivery!

We have a custom built coldroom and the produce is harvested, cleaned and prepared for sale, then our packing team actually pack your order inside our coldroom. This ensures that your produce is not exposed to a multitude of heat cycles.

Produce we collect from local growers is picked up in our frige trucks and taken directly to our coldroom - ready to be sent out to our customers the next day.

Why is my meat frozen?

At OrganicBox we aim to be as natural as possible so we do not use any preservatives in our meat lines.

Our butcher snap freezes our meat, to ensure that what you receive is as fresh as possible, without the use of chemical additives.

What is ACO?

ACO is Australian Certified Organic, and is our certifying body.

The ACO Bud Logo is the most recognised symbol of truth and guarantee that what you are purchasing is actually certified organic and that we are routinely audited to ensure we are adhering to the Organic Standard.

We are passionate about truth and integrity in organics, and sadly the word "organic' now is only a marketing term so always look for the Logo.

Do you support local growers?

At OrganicBox we supply as much as possible from our own certified organic farm at Gumeracha, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

We also support other SA certified organic growers where we can, and only import in a small amount of produce such as Bananas, Sweet Potato, Ginger etc.

SA has extermely strict biosecurity regulations so there is not much that can actually come over the border without being chemically fumigated, which is not acceptable for certified organic.

When will I receive my order?

Our orders close on Sunday night at midnight, for delivery in the same week.

Depending on when you order we will always aim to send your order out asap.

If you order after cutoff and we are not able to fit it on our delivery run, your order will be updated to "Backordered" and we will deliver on your next available delivery day.

I will not be home for delivery?

If you are not going to be home for delivery our drivers will ensure they leave your order out of sight of the road, and out of the sun.

If you have a secure premises please contact Kim, Vicki, Vanessa or Jason to discuss options.

In summer we delver in foam boxes which act as an esky so your food is protected and kept cold. Just remember to leave your foam box out next delivery for pick up.

In winter we may use cardboard boxes which will still ensure your produce is still fresh and safe.

If you order meat or frozen items you can elect for an icepack, and we will also send in foil packaging for country deliveries. Our frozen lines are always insulated by being wrapped in butchers paper which keeps the produce frozen over several hours
